The law… .. .

There is no excuses nor extremes:

As we continue (and to learn more) walking in the love of God for ourselves and towards one another, we fulfill the heart of the law with a greater appreciation to the grace of God found in the Person of Jesus Christ in/through His finished work on the cross.

13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

Gal 5:13-14 ESV

The Grace of God

This verses has been dwelling in my heart for awhile, not letting up yet; For if we are honest with ourselves, the effect of the Grace of God in our lives will/should lead us to these desires:

Titus 2:11‭-‬12 ESV

  1. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

  2. training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, …

In NKJV it’s says teaching us… Indicating a process or journey..

Transforming us as described in v.14(b) AMP:

Who gave Himself on our behalf that He might redeem us (purchase our freedom) from all iniquity and purify for Himself

(b) a people [to be peculiarly His own, people who are]

eager and enthusiastic about [living a life that is good and filled with] beneficial deeds.

[Deut. 14:2; Ps. 130:8; Ezek. 37:23.]

valley of the SHADOW of death

It just dawn on me when Rev. Jesse Duplantis highlighted the verse;

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…”

Rev. Jesse took noted that it’s a valley of the SHADOW of death… NOT valley of DEATH. How do you overcome or get rid of shadow? You TURN ON the light!!

I was thinking through a few days, how you ‘turn on’ the light… And this verse floated up- It ‘Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.’ OOoooo!!

My immediate questions was how to apply? And I saw words like Flee.. Let not your heart be trouble.. Fear not.. Be Strong.. Be courageous.. etc.. etc..

It dawn on me:

  1. Often time as a believer, the Word of God actually light up in the inside of us when we are in a shadowy situation. It takes faith and obedience to follow through/turn on the light.

  2. The applications on the word is dynamic, there are times we ACT on the...

Practicing the Presence of God (i)

I am hearing for myself the second time that ppl of a prominent church equate listening to pastor message as spending time with God… Mind you, they are supposingly the older generations..

It’s really a surprise surprise for me… Cos i also remembered this same pastor many years ago repeated over the pulpit that he cannot worship God for us, he teaches the Word and the element of developing the relationship with God is an individual journey.

(Repeating) listening to a sermon and spending time with God are two separate events…

Sure, (repeatedly) listening to sermons nourish our spirit man as we are feeding ourselves spiritually. Yet, that does not necessarily equates to spending time with God.

Example:

We may records on tape of our love ones instructions and repeatedly listening to it… We will eventually get a clear understand what our love one is saying…

However, it is different...

Natural yet Supernatural, Mr. Yee

It was reported that a teenager was send back to remand prison as his bailor has discharged himself , The teenager breached his bail condition by (continue) posting online. Got assaulted by a stranger on his way to court.

When an individual continue to do the negative, and it’s beyond human logic and reasons he is actually being either possesed or oppressed to continue to do what he does.

It is supernatural, no amount of natural counselling, discipline or other human methods can snap him out of it.

Somewhere along the way, like Eve, the person bought in a lie that was presented, and now became a stronghold in his thought.

It remains in him, evil remains in him. That’s itself attract more negative to him aka he’s cursed.

The person can end up in two ways, one in the lowest rank of the devils’ push over or an Adolf Hitler in the making.

Looking at a wider perspective of the...

In remembrance of me…

In the old testament, there were lots of events the Lord gave to children of Israel to keep, remember and celebrate. In contrast, after the cross, technically, just one - The Lord’s Supper aka Holy Communion.

“23 For I received from the Lord Himself that which I passed on to you [it was given to me personally], that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was treacherously delivered up and while His betrayal was in progress took bread,

24 And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.

25 Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.

26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are representing and...

Being broken before Him…

I wanna say this objectively..

A good song writer/singer, touched the soul/emotion of the listener…

A broken (life) song writer/singer, touches the heart/spot of the hearer…

An anointed song writer/singer, surpasses the understanding, refresh & restored the spirit man, translating to changing lives to both the hearer and receiver..

God is a restor-er, something about Him that He is attracted to broken individual. A broken heart, a broken life, a broken spirit…

These are the few whys:

it is in that brokenness that we cannot but He can; He becomes The I Am.

it is in that brokenness that we are brought to our knees aka humbled, He give Grace to the humble.

it is in the brokenness, our broken pieces become cluster of diamonds reflecting His glory..

Isaiah 57:15
For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and...

Having an ‘NG’ scenes at final episode.

One thing i like about most korean dramas that i got to watch, at the final episode, most of them will show the ‘NG’ scenes of the set which is a good practice.

Such will bring the fans back to earth that it’s only a movie and not real…

Let’s face it.. even though there is a ‘making of xxxx’ before the actual premier, being human, when we are drawn into it, some people are totally obsessed. So, when you show it after the final episode.. it’s an immediate reminder or a reset to the mind that it’s a movie after all.

Remember Avatar? Some fans went into depression because they cannot snapped out of the fact that it’s fictional. The company had to set up an hotline to remind their fan that it’s only a movie!!!

As much as i loved some of my Taiwan and Korean drama, they are still an enactment of somebody’s written scripts… sop.. sop.. T.T

The Master’s Sun, why I’m hooked?!

Let me try to put in words, what got me hooked on this Korean Drama-
The Master’s Sun..

  1. It’s basically (to me) a better version of the ang mo tv series- Ghost Whisperer.

1a. Being a Korean drama, it’s geared towards more a love stories, yet keeping the ghostly effects on every encounter but not as dark as the ang mo version.

1b. Stories revolved between the CEO of a mega mall corporate and the whisperer as the commoner employee, one of those typical atars meeting an non atars happy ever after bed time stories.

  1. Ep.4 is the scene that won me over where I was watching it casually; After CEO gave a heated scolding to the whisperer and chased her home in the midst of an corporate event, he was suppose to have an meeting with a vip.

2a. While waiting, his PA informed him the vip might be delay as there was an car accident involving many deaths at a junction near by.

2b. CEO kept...

Potatoe… poTAtoe

Some time back, someone shared that a certain person who hold an influential position in a certain big named church was removed due to doctrinal differences…

Tonight i happend to come across his fb, got to read his theology posting…

Hummmm… my thought & feel is/are:

I am glad for the old testaments.. because all the worthy men and women ever recorded, even among them who were priests, they simply love God as they know how, in their own expressions, the Lord responded to them.

You have king David who deem to be a person after God’s heart and you have king Solomon, the wisest king, all have a common journey- they disappointed God BIG TIME at one point and another… and the amazing thing about it- the Lord woos them back.

Of which, we’ll get to meet them when our time comes.

So, simple, what is doctrinal differences to HIM when HE sacrificed HIS SON for us..? At the end of the day...
